Meet The Golden Fry Family from Foggie

What began as a line that Margaret Stuart’s family — who are behind the north-east fish and chip shop — crafted for a social media video has now travelled far beyond Main Street in Aberchirder, better known to locals simply as Foggie.


In recent weeks, The Golden Fry has become a social media hit. Its dry, Doric humour and tongue-in-cheek videos have racked up tens of thousands of views on TikTok and Facebook.


But behind the viral clips is a family business rooted in the village for more than 40 years — and a story that’s as much about community as it is about chips.



Adele is also recording a song about Foggie, written by David Sheret (aka Finn Moray) Who — according to his Instagram page — is building “a musical map of Scotland” celebrating its towns, villages and their people.
