Making Music Matter

Song Writing Process

Every song is written and produced by David Sheret, the creator of Finn Moray. Blending song writing with traditional and AI digital studios, David uses technology to deepen the emotion and texture of each lyric, bringing the soul of every story to life.

Concept and Intent

Start with an idea that matters.

Every Finn Moray song begins with an idea that carries real feeling, drawn from memory, observation, or the history of a place.

Writing as Finn Moray gives David space to explore these stories with distance but never detachment, a lens, not a mask. What matters most isn’t who tells the story, but that it feels true, human, and shared; something people can see themselves in.

Writing and Lyrics

Write lyrics, drawn from memory, observation and research.

Finn’s lyric process begins with quiet reflection and steady craft, shaped by years of notes, poems, and half-finished lines.

Some verses grow from old notebooks; others rise from research into oral histories and the stories of overlooked places. Digital tools help him fine-tune tone and phrasing, but every word is his own, written to carry honesty, clarity, and feeling that lasts.

Guitar and Voice

Shape the core song using voice and acoustic guitar.

When the lyrics take shape, Finn reaches for his Freshman acoustic guitar, just voice and strings, to find the song’s rhythm and heart. If it doesn’t move you in its rawest form, it’s not ready.

In Adobe Audition, he records the core parts: vocals, guitar, and harmonies, crafting a living foundation that will guide every layer of production to follow.

Production and Arrangement

Build the broader sound with AI, always guided by the original recording.

After recording, Finn expands each song’s sonic world with Suno, an AI sound partner introduced only once the heart of the song is complete. Through carefully designed prompting and intuition, he shapes tempo, instrumentation, vocals and mood, choosing versions that honour the spirit of the original performance.

This stage isn’t invention but translation, giving the music atmosphere and scale without ever losing its soul.

Editing and Mastering

Edit, align and master the track with human ear and care.

With the final version chosen, Finn works closely with two-time Latin Grammy winning producer Mariano Beyoglonian (Nano Bayo) to shape the mix, blending textures, balancing tone, and refining the sound’s emotion and space.

Their shared focus is preserving the honesty of the vocal and the feeling behind it. Mixing and mastering are careful but never overworked, keeping each song warm, human, and true to its acoustic roots. Scottish heart and soul with Argentinian flair and passion.

A Repeatable and Author-Led Process

Every Finn Moray track follows this clear, consistent process, anchored in authorship, memory, and sound.

  • Start with an idea that matters

  • Write lyrics, drawn from memory, observation and research

  • Shape the core song using voice and an acoustic guitar

  • Build the broader sound and vocals with AI and Traditional DAWs, always guided by the original

  • Edit, align and master the track with care, bringing voice and production into harmony

Every word, every note, every direction comes from Finn. Technology plays a strong supporting role, but it never replaces the human behind the music. It serves the song. And the song serves something real.

What These Songs Offer

These are built to carry feeling, to honour place, memory, and truth.

Each track invites you to feel what it’s saying. Not just in the lyrics, but in the quiet spaces between.

The weight. The rhythm. The heart.

These songs weren’t made by a committee. Every word, chord and choice comes from Finn, with help from digital tools and AI, used with purpose, never to replace the human hand.

They’re for people who care how music is made, not just how it sounds.

If one moves you, then it’s done what it was meant to do. Then AON: THE GATHERING begins!
